Central American Expedition - Working away

This summer I'm leading a team from Surrey to Central America for a trekking and community project expedition for True Adventure, a company I have worked closely with for several years now. 

This is always a fantastic experience for those in the team, and for myself as well. It does, however, mean that I am not available for guiding, teaching or technical work until my return on August 11th.

Activities for all

Specialist 1:1 support for a young girl with mobility issues this week on her schools residential trip to Gower. Great to see her getting stuck in and enjoying all the activities including abseiling, scrambling and body boarding, and wonderful to be able to help her challenge what is possible.

Sport Climbing on Gower

Today I was asked to give an outdoor climbing day for an indoor climber who would like to get out and get on the rock. We went sport climbing on Gower, at Fox Hole near Southgate and climbed 4 routes from fr3+to fr5. 
Lots of learning throughout the day about movement, technique and equipment - next steps - get out and climb lots, practice makes permanent!

Sport Climbing in the Welsh Valleys

Sport climbing in The Valleys on the hottest day of the year so far.
We went high and tried to stay in the shade, but it was a warm one.
Highly recommend Treherbert Quarry for those climbing fr5-6b, will all be covered in the new Rockfax guide due out next year.
